Smaller Salaries Than Colleagues? Maybe this is the cause

Working and having responsibilities for the company, you also certainly get a fixed salary amount every month. All employees in the company will have their respective duties and are entitled to a salary in accordance with the tasks that they do.

However, what happens if it turns out your salary is actually smaller than your other colleagues at the company where you work? Every company will certainly have a policy related to determining the amount of salary received by its employees.

Each employee can get a different salary from one another. Length of work, experience, responsibilities, and various other things are some of the points that often affect the amount of salary received by employees.

It is these various factors that ultimately often make companies have policies so that their employees keep the amount of salary they receive every month. The reason is certainly clear, to avoid various problems and also unprofessional attitudes that might arise due to jealousy among employees.

Understand the various reasons that make your salary smaller than your co-workers, so you don't feel disadvantaged. Then, is your salary really smaller than your coworkers? If yes, here are the possible reasons.

1. Don't Have Enough Experience
Work experience will also affect salary, especially if you work in large companies. This experience will usually affect one's work ability, because an expert would be more professional if supported by flight hours that are also already high.

So do not be surprised, if it turns out you get a smaller salary compared to coworkers who already have longer experience in your field of work.

2. Position or Position is still at the Lower Level Your position or position in the company will certainly greatly affect the amount of salary you will get each month. A marketing manager is certainly not possible to get the same salary as an ordinary sales staff. Your salary will follow the development of your career in the company. The higher the position you hold, the higher the salary you can get. This is of course coupled with a growing number of responsibilities.

3. Not Knowing Salary Standards for Positions undertaken One of the common mistakes made by employees to finally get a small salary in the company is not looking for accurate information related to salary levels in the company in accordance with the position being applied for. If you interview and only ask for a small salary from the company, then the company will gladly grant it, even though the average salary of employees there is much higher. This will be a regret for yourself in the future. Because one day you will find out the amount of salary received by your colleagues is higher. Avoid mistakes like this, be sure to always look for complete and accurate information about the company you are applying for, including the amount of salary applied.

4. Take it for granted Without Negotiating a Salary Getting a job at a dream company alone makes you so happy, because finding a job right now can't be done easily. You are so grateful that you no longer even negotiate salary with the company and only receive the salary they offer. This can also be a fatal mistake. Because you can only receive a salary that is much smaller than your colleagues who are at the office. Usually the feeling of regret will come after work and you know the amount of salary that turns out to be higher. If it's like this, it seems of course you want to repeat the interview session again, right?
